Effective Date: 22 July 2026
At Quick Skips, we are committed to promoting responsible, legal and environmentally sustainable waste disposal.
As a skip hire broker, we arrange skip hire services through a network of trusted, licensed local skip hire providers. The collection, transportation and disposal of waste is carried out by the appointed supplier, who is responsible for complying with all applicable environmental legislation and licensing requirements.
Working with Licensed Waste Carriers
We only work with trusted skip hire providers who hold the appropriate licences and registrations required to transport and dispose of waste legally.
Where requested, we can provide details of the appointed waste carrier responsible for your booking.
Our Commitment
We are committed to:
Working with trusted, licensed waste carriers and recycling facilities.
Promoting responsible waste disposal.
Supporting high recycling rates wherever possible.
Reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill.
Ensuring customers receive clear guidance on acceptable and prohibited waste.
Encouraging compliance with UK environmental legislation.
Duty of Care
Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, everyone involved in producing, handling and disposing of waste has a legal Duty of Care.
Customers are responsible for:
Accurately describing the waste they intend to dispose of.
Declaring any chargeable or specialist waste during the booking process.
Ensuring prohibited or hazardous materials are not placed into the skip.
Loading the skip safely and responsibly.
Complying with all applicable environmental legislation.
Failure to declare certain waste types may result in additional disposal charges, delays to collection or refusal to collect the skip until the issue has been resolved.
Chargeable Waste
Certain waste types attract additional disposal charges because they require specialist processing or are subject to environmental regulations.
Where applicable, customers must declare these materials during the booking process.
If undeclared chargeable waste is discovered, additional charges may be applied before the skip can be collected.
Prohibited Waste
Certain materials cannot legally be transported or disposed of in a standard skip.
These include (but are not limited to):
Asbestos
Chemicals and hazardous substances
Liquid paint, solvents and oils
Fuel and petrol

Skip Permits
If your skip is placed on private land, a permit is not normally required.
If the skip is to be placed on a public road, pavement or highway, a permit may be required from the relevant local authority.
Where applicable:
We can advise whether a permit is likely to be required.
The appointed supplier may arrange the permit on your behalf where this service is available.
All permit fees are payable by the customer.
Delivery cannot take place until any required permit has been approved.
Permit requirements and fees vary between local authorities.
Recycling
Our appointed suppliers work with authorised waste transfer stations and recycling facilities to maximise recycling wherever possible.
Although recycling rates vary depending on the type of waste collected, we support responsible waste management practices that reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.
